Every permanent lights company in Columbus charges differently, and I can't speak for what other companies quote because I don't see their numbers. What I can do is show you exactly what we charge, what's included, and three real Columbus homes we've installed so you have numbers to compare against anything else you're looking at. (If you haven't measured your roofline yet, see How to Measure Your Roofline first.)
Same homes, same square footage, two products. Here's what each one actually costs.

Home #3: Big (333 ft, 4 Govee systems needed)
Two-story home with many peaks and a detached garage. Front of house plus detached garage. This house had so many jumps on the front that a single Govee system would overload every time we tried to push power through. We had to split the front into 3 separate Govee systems just to handle it cleanly, plus 1 more for the detached garage. 4 systems total. (More on why Govee systems overload at Why Govee Lights Stop Working, and the Y-splitter trick we use for complex houses.)
Govee Total: $4,084
- 200 ft kit: $600
- 100 ft kit: $350
- 2 extra adapters: $120
- 2 extra control boxes: $80
- 4 extra 16 ft extensions: $80
- 2 Y splitters: $40
- 50 ft extra lights: $150

Professional Grade Total: $7,326
- 333 ft × $22 (volume rate)
- Includes everything
- 5 year parts and labor warranty

Difference: $3,242 more for professional grade. On big homes the gap widens because you need so many Govee parts to make it work.
The Honest Takeaway
Govee ends up around half the price of professional grade in every example. But what you save upfront, you pay back over time in service calls, parts replacements, and your own time dealing with the system.
The professional grade system covers itself with the 5-year parts and labor warranty, the longer lifespan, and the cleaner daytime look. Govee saves you money in year one and costs you more over 15 years if you count repairs honestly.
If upfront budget is your biggest constraint, Govee is a real option. If you can stretch the budget or use our 0% financing for 6 months, professional grade is the better long term choice.
Why Our Pricing Works
Most professional grade permanent lights in Columbus are sold through dealer networks. The dealer pays a franchise fee, marks up the product, marks up the labor, and passes all of it on to you.
We don't do that. We work directly with the factory to save cost for our customers. Our install team is local to Columbus and trained by us. No subcontractors, no out-of-state crews, no franchise fees stacked on top. Every dollar you pay goes into the product, the labor, and the warranty.
